Victoria holds a degree in Biology, a diploma in TA Psychotherapeutic counselling and a Master’s degree in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy. Before becoming a therapist, Victoria worked in a large London retail store as a Catering Executive Manager and then in a mainstream school working with deaf teenagers with behavioural problems after her PGCE training. She realised the need for deaf therapists when she tried to find one to support her with her own deaf identity issues, but found it hard to locate a practitioner at the time. She decided to retrain as a therapist in order to help deaf people gain access to cultural and linguistic counselling in the language of their choice. Victoria understands that one style doesn't fit all. She trained in TA (Transactional analysis), but has adopted many other modalities including Relational TA, CBT, Schema therapy and Mindfulness in her work. She helps her clients, who include hearing and deaf adults and couples, find healthy perceptions of themselves and strengthen their relationships so they can know themselves as peaceful, complete, whole and safe. Victoria can use BSL (British Sign Language) or SSE (Signed spoken English) or speak orally to meet the communication needs of her deaf or deafened clients.
